[The Teacher回覆11/19/2011 10:05:26]not specifically 衛生護墊, but like a launching pad, or as something use for the purposes of padding, then yes.
    [版主回覆11/19/2011 07:27:54]我也沒聽過呢,我連pad指護墊也不知道 :p
[The Teacher回覆11/19/2011 01:27:02]haven't heard this one. A pad is a place when a person lives, in colloquial American English.

  4. 你的朋友似乎反應過敏
    [版主回覆11/19/2011 07:30:41]我都覺得。不過若出版後,俾人拿這個作藉口攻擊,又似乎有點不值。當是小心駛得萬年船。

  5. 看來你的朋友真有點太敏感~~
    [版主回覆11/19/2011 07:31:50]可能他預計看的人(家長)會心邪,所以才這樣挑剔。

  6. Which dictionary did you consult? I've never heard of that definition of fanny. I do know that fanny means one's "petpet" (both male and female) in colloqial American English.

Rubber means eraser in British English, and a condom only in American English.
[版主回覆11/19/2011 07:36:26]Thanks also for the explanation in the entry about 'candy'. The concept 'generally uncountable' really helps!
[版主回覆11/19/2011 07:33:39]Teacher: I checked OALD online (http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/fanny). The second definition is 'petpet'. And thank you for explaining 'peter'. I only know that 'peter' can be used as a verb. :)
