情股‧招行

今天吃午飯時查看股票報價,發現招行 (3968) 的股價不見了4元,嚇得心臟差點從胸口跳了出來。後來上港交所的網頁查看,才知道今天是除淨日。


不過招行的末期息只不過是每股0.1元,為何股價會不見了那麼多?揉揉眼,看見 Bonus 3 for 10 一句。原來招行派紅股,好一個驚喜!


栗妹一向喜歡跟股票談戀愛,現在首號情股送上厚禮,自是喜上眉梢。雖然紅股不會讓栗即時獲利 (還要賠上銀行手續費~),但我一直深信招行前程遠大,只要經濟復蘇,它一定能搶閘跑出,替栗贏漂亮的一仗。


幸好買股票的全是閒錢,只要栗妹一息尚存,總會等到打勝仗的一天的。

  1. if the stock price drops, it must've been 3 "to" 10, which means for each 10 shares you have, they give you 3 more, and you have a total of 13 shares.
     
    3 "for" 10 means a reverse split, for each 10 shares your have, they take them back and give you 3.  The stock price would triple in that case.

    I thought 'Bonus 3 for 10' means 'Bonus 3 (shares) for (every) 10 (shares you have)' ...

  2. Sure, you could interpret it that way.  But normally, "for" implies some kind of replacement, while "to" implies a oneway movement, in everyday English.
     
    If the HKEx use "for" that way, how do they describe a reverse split, replacing 10 shares with 3 shares?
