翻開中五的數學課本,發現新高中的數學課程,既難學,又難教。
難學之處,在於因課程時間延長而衍生出來的「深奧」課題。例如排列
(permutation),在栗的記憶中,從未在本地數學課程出現過。本來多學一種東西是好事來的,但以今日學生的資質,栗覺得還是多一事不如少一事。
至於難教之處,在於課題分佈不均。例如「續多項式」一課,竟然把指數方程
(exponential equations)、對數方程 (logarithmic equations) 和三角方程 (trigonometric
equations) 全堆在一起。天呀,有多少學生連基礎對數和三角函數也還未學好,要他們在同一課學了這幾種方程,這不是苦了(補習)老師嗎?
不過方程還算是小事,概率
(probability) 那課中 and、or 與 not 的符號,才真的要了栗的命。我到現在還弄不清正U和反U呀……
do they also talk about "combination", the cousin of "permutation"?
回覆刪除[版主回覆09/12/2010 07:56:00]Yes, Teacher. But combination is covered in the Additional Maths syllabus (together with the Binomial Theorem) as long as I can remember. That was why I did not include it in this entry. About the U and inverted U symbols, I recall that they were from the set theorem I learnt in Pure Maths. I don't know why the curriculum include such symbols in the compulsory section. They accepted P (A and B) / P (A or B) in the past!
U = universe (omega), or union, like "or" ??

指數方程 (exponential equations) 、對數方程 (logarithmic equations) 和三角方程 (trigonometric equations) 等 方程, 或然率 (probability)不是中六 ( Advanced Level) 數學嗎? 沒有良好的數學基礎就來這一套,豈非椽木求魚?
