某天補習，學生說想拿上海迪士尼跟香港迪士尼作比較，闡釋經濟學的供求定律。當時栗問她：「上海迪士尼不是比香港迪士尼小很多嗎？這樣比較可以嗎？」學生聽罷十分訝異，說根本不知道上海迪士尼比香港迪士尼小！
我教過的學生，大抵都是這個樣子。他們只關心自己小圈子內的事情，其餘的則不聞不問。若是小學生還情有可原，但都讀高中了，這樣子行嗎？
其實除了學生，連投身社會多年的朋友也如此。他們只顧埋首工作，對周遭的一切置若罔聞。偶爾閒聊，發覺他們連一些簡單的時事話題也搭不上嘴。每次栗望著他們，便忍不住想：這樣過日子，到底為何？
工作以外，我們該擁有別的生活吧？

現在小朋友喜歡名牌，時事沒有太大興趣。唉。

I think I was saying the same thing a while back. People in HK are too involved in money. As American would say "They don't have a life"! Their world is only around work so they can move ahead and earn more money. I think it is contributed to the fact that HK is still a developing area. Art and other non essential items can only happen in time of prosperity. When having a comfortable life is a given then people will become unsatisfied and want more. Wanting a more fulfilling emotional life.
