早幾天,上級傳來兩封電郵,指示栗子妹把兩批檔案 (files) 儲存到伺服器 (server) 的兩個文件夾 (folders) 中。由於這個動作栗子妹已經做過很多次,所以不消五秒便完成。可是數小時後,當栗想在伺服器上找文件訂正時,發現文件夾空空如也。
起先栗揉揉眼,以為是自己看錯了。可不,文件真的不翼而飛!這絕對是一個晴天霹靂,因為那批檔案栗並沒有做備份 (backup)──難度要重新做過?
當時栗吸了一口氣,讓自己冷靜下來,然後打電話給同事求救。過了數分鐘,栗子妹再在伺服器上找,終於看見文件,立即感謝同事,並替兩個文件夾做備份。不過很奇怪,同事回說並沒有做過甚麼。
到了第二天,栗子妹要訂正另一個文件夾中的文件,可當栗打開文件夾時,竟然也是空的!最意想不到的是,連自己的備份也是一個空的資料夾!栗再次打電話給同事求救,同事證實,那個資料夾由始至終都沒有人放過檔案進去。
栗子妹為此百思不得其解,最後決定查看上級電郵,終於發現問題所在。各位猜猜發生了甚麼事?
Similar incident happened to me when I first installed Windows 7, but that would not be your case.

My guess: your boss directed you to dump the two files there, presumably a public folder, so he could move it to his own folders?
[版主回覆01/24/2010 15:49:00]Here's the answer, Teacher: My boss opened two identical folders in different paths. When I received her first email, I put half of the files in the folder in Path 1. And in her second email, she instructed me to put the files in the folder in Path 2.

電腦的事情,總覺得信靠不住。
