「那個蒸籠叫 bamboo steamer,是否叫 two bamboo steamers of beef balls?」

點心英文叫 dim sum dishes,我看叫 two dishes of beef balls吧?」

「咪住,牛肉放在碟子上,應該叫 two plates of beef balls 才對?」

Well, if we really have to say it, we'll probably say 'two lots of beef balls'.

  1. 用two helpings of beef balls可不可以﹖會否太文﹖

所以two lots of beef balls....

  6. Excuse me for having "buttinsky" as a middle name, but the proper expression is "two orders of beef balls".

By the way, 蒸籠 is bamboo steamer, no?
[版主回覆10/24/2011 13:17:14]Thanks, Teacher. He's from Australia. He said he wouldn't talk about the quantities when he is ordering dim sum (probably just write them down on a 點心紙)
[The Teacher回覆10/24/2011 10:41:09]Yes, that's what people in my 鄉下 would say, so they don't need to worry about steamers, dishes, and plates. Where's your western colleague from???
A huge typo :p // Further explanation, please, Teacher. What do you mean by 'proper expression'. Do you mean you will actually say this when you are in a dim sum restaurant?
